Waxing FAQs

How long does my hair need to be?

Your hair should be at around 1cm long to achieve the best results.

How long will it last?

How long your waxing will last will depend on you as an individual, but on average you will see minimum growth for the first 3 weeks. Regrowth will generally get less over time and the hair that does grow will be finer and less coarse than if the area had been shaved.

Will it hurt?

No waxing is totally pain free but I use the best products, the best methods and I put client comfort first. It might hurt a bit but it is over in an instant and the results are worth it.

Is intimate waxing embarrassing?

You will need to be naked from the waist down to ensure a perfect result. Be reassured that I do this every day, I have seen it all before and I will put you at ease. The results are worth it.

How often do I need to wax?

This really deoends upon you and how your hair grows. Most clients get waxed every 4-5 weeks.

What are the main reasons people get waxed?

There are many but the main ones are:

It feels lovely and clean

It heightens sensitivity

Partners prefer it

It is more hygienic

It looks good

It is sexy!

Can I be waxed when I'm pregnant?

Absolutely. I will ensure that all waxing is carried out safely. Waxing a week or so before due dates is very popular.

Can I bring someone with with me?

Sorry no. As this is a home-based salon we are unable to cater for other people or children.

Can I be waxed during my period?

Yes no problem but your pain threshold may be reduced as it is at it's lowest just before and just after a period.

Is there anything that would prevent me from being waxed?

• Bruises, cuts or contagious infections

• Recent scar tissue (less than 6 months old)

• Sunburn or prickly heat

• Skin medication - Retin A, Accutane, Steriods or any other medication that could thin the skin

• Cosmetic products containing glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid or salicylic acid

• A Doctor's note may be needed if you suffer from Diabetes, Varicose Veins or skin conditions such as Psoriasis or Eczema.

Aftercare

Avoid hot baths and showers, saunas, swimming pools, sun, sunbeds and deodorants for 24 hours after waxing as these could irritate the skin. To prevent ingrown hairs exfoliate gently after a couple of days then a couple of times a week. Use a body brush or towel and rub gently.

Finally

I provide professional male and female waxing services but that's all I provide. PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR EXTRAS (Yes, I have been asked in the past - embarassing for the men involved!)
